California Chapter
Fellow SMRP Members,
We are writing to give you an update on our chapter and give you a preview of what we are planning for 2012.
This past year has been challenging at best and we’ve struggled to get our local chapter up and running. Setting up a non-profit organization in California has also presented its own set of problems and frankly, we’ve had to educate ourselves as we go.
Fortunately, we have a dedicated core group of individuals and with your help we can get this chapter up and running for 2012. Our plans for 2012 include:
- Regular chapter meetings as follows:
- May 23rd @ 7:00 pm - 700 North Moreno Ave, La Verne, 91750 (Metropolitan Water District office)
- Sep 15th - Orange County
- Nov 3rd - TBD (check website for updates)
- Develop Northern/Central California sub-committee
- Develop sponsorships - fund guest speakers & workshops
- Develop SMRP California web discussion forum - share & discuss issues
Our most pressing issue is the need to expand our board and we also need volunteers to take on duties and help make our chapter a success. If you are interested, please email us at info@smrpcalifornia.org
The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) is an independent, not-for-profit, professional society formed by practitioners, for practitioners. SMRP has over 3,700 members internationally. SMRP is dedicated to instilling excellence in maintenance and reliability, through education, networking, and knowledge transfer.
